Catherynne attended undergraduate school at Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta, Georgia, whereby she obtained a B.A. in English. She obtained her juris doctorate degree from the University of Missouri School of Law School. During law school, she was a member of the Attorney General’s Moot Court Team, published in the Missouri Environmental Law & Policy Review Journal, and traveled to eight countries throughout Europe to study international arbitration.
Upon graduation from law school, she worked on Capitol Hill, in the Office of Civil Rights at the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and as an Attorney-Advisor at the Social Security Administration.
Most recently, she worked as an Attorney-Advisor at the Board of Veterans Appeals drafting opinions for a Veterans Administrative Judge. She also worked at a firm practicing Veteran’s Law. She is an accredited attorney with the Department of Veterans Affairs. She is a very passionate advocate for Veterans, ensuring they receive the benefits owed because her father is a Captain in the Navy JAG Reserves and her brother serves in the Army National Guard. Additionally, many members of her family have served in the military including several of her Great Uncles that served in the Vietnam war and her Great-Great Uncle was a Tuskegee Airman.
